More people willfully deliberately knowingly voted for him after he did this, than the first time around. It's like people spent the four years of the Biden presidency really thinking that being nice to shitty people with shitty values is accountability.

What works in Switzerland will definitely not work here. The Swiss aren't anywhere near as apathetic as Americans. Since it requires 3/4 of state legislatures to ratify such a change in any case, why not scrap the presidency for a parliamentary system?

We should have a national law that requires disclosure of the per person cost to the employer, and enforce employees opting out with that cost as untaxable compensation. Give the employee the option to buy their own plan elsewhere.

It's not even insurance. It's a payment plan to get access to pre-negotiated additional costs for illness, with a very high cost cap. With an enormous bureaucracy and middleman cost. Most plans are employer paid.

Russia regularly commits genocide and freely admits it. Including on Ukraine. Proving genocide under the convention has specific requirements. Dolus specialis is hard to prove. It'd be hard to prove with Russia-Ukraine but I think that case should be made.

The government moving or hiding jailed people to avoid review by courts isn't some loophole in our habeas corpus rights. This government behavior has been considered a violation of the people's habeas corpus rights since at least the Habeas Corpus Act of 1679. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Habeas_...
Jailors were forbidden to move prisoners from one prison to another or out of the country to evade the writ. In case of disobedience jailers would be punished with severe fines which had to be paid to the prisoner.[5][6]

The rendering of the nearly invisible arms is a deliberate choice. It didn't see shoes magically levitating. The reaction was feet are in those shoes and attached to someone. Is the point to talk about it and thus the brand? Classic negative marketing?

Chris Murphy @cmurf.com · 19/09/2026
Before my eyes adjusted, I didn't see the arm connected to the shoes, therefore I saw someone hanged. The bright light forming a triangle didn't consciously register until after I read someone else's take, then it seems obvious. Looking at the image in isolation, however brief, was jolting.

Saddest part about this is that trafficking is intimately related to migration — but mostly because restrictions on migration spur cartels and trafficking networks to get into the migrant smuggling business. Everybody knows this as well. Lack of legal pathways makes a market for migrant trafficking
