The proposal to voters was shitty!!!! I voted yes on it, but I cannot 100% blame people for voting no on it when it was so regressive. People weren’t against the increased tax to transit, they were against the other stuff! Is this really the best Oregon can do?

This is large scale disenfranchisement and now SCOTUS has even less excuse not to reject Trump's EO on mail voting. Allowing him to move forward would have clear negative harms to voters that could not be reversed, even as his claim for authority over voting processes is legally dubious.

Furthermore, for every TriMet employee that gets laid off, those state income tax dollars from every paycheck are no longer coming in AND unemployment is now being collected. It’s more complicated than that, but it sure seems to me that this is not a good fiscal decision from the state!
