59. And it’s really not “oh boohoo, the humanities and social sciences are having a hissy fit again”. Very tired of that narrative, those who spin it with the governing body to delegitimise actual concerns, and those who enable it. Science & Engineering is going to have an Education meltdown.

Struck reading how everything is replicated at QMUL (“stabilisation” language while the crisis isn’t local; ungrowth; focus on cutting (staff…) cost rather than growing income; redirection of the purpose of the university) Only to read in the last paragraph that, of course, the NOUS group is there…

Poster that shows in the back the silly PR poster that QMUL has about 'openiing doors of opportunity', with a cutting line and graphic scisor, which reveals the purple and green of Unison, wth the text:
transformation by a 1000 cuts
Professional Service staff restructure & centralisation
Overhaul of Student Experience structure -- including through AskQM
Portfolio review by external consultancy NOUS
Renewed talk of merger of academic departments
One-on-ones about Settlement Agreements
Staff without the basic equipment to do their job
Adverse probations skyrocketing
Team members not replaced leading to stress
