Basically no one on here knows me in real life so no one's gonna get spoiled when I post escape room pictures
The exterior of a library classroom, the windows have been covered with white tablecloths and "keep out" signsA cart with some suspicious-looking tools on it, a table with a chair, with file folders and boxes on it, and a painted control panel hanging from the wall in the background A table with some paper and pencils, a pouch, and a framed picture of a heart diagram. Two more pictures, of lungs and a digestive tract, hang on the wall behind it

My most unhinged cooking hack is that when I make soup with winter squash I just throw the seeds in the pot with everything else. No comment on whether this is still a good idea if you blend your soup, I am obviously not an extra steps kind of girl.

My first arc in my ongoing campaign was a mystery. It worked really well as a way to set the tone, establish some of the central conflicts and themes of the game, and bring the party together. It was less successful as a mystery. 6 years and 16 levels later they are finally figuring out howdunnit

Our society's unfathomable cruelty to homeless people is not just morally unjustifiable, but more expensive than housing people would be. Cruelty against the homeless is an unaffordable luxury. Abandoning homeless people to avoid offending the Protestant work ethic is an unaffordable luxury.

I really cannot think of a greater honor than to have the Muppets say this about you upon your passing
Instagram post from the official Muppets account: Few humans have earned the title of honorary Muppet more than the legendary Tim Curry. As a performer he was unparalleled - witty, charming, unnerving, and deeply funny. We will always consider it one of our greatest treasures to have been part of Long John Silver’s crew. Thank you for everything, Tim.

I've been thinking a bit, recently, about people I've known in my own life who have passed away, but who left a bounty of love and art and generosity behind. There's a kind of joy to mourning a life so well-lived. & I think Dolly Parton was that for millions of people which is kind of incredible

The existence of a now-famous fictional cat called Princess Donut has me feeling a little self-conscious about having named the cat in my musical "Out of the Bag" Princess Sashimi. Ultimately tho, I guess Matt D and I are poking fun at the same naming convention. And the cats are very different

A red sign reading: you're very unusual. About 70% of American adults have committed a crime that could lead to prison. Most of us will never experience arrest, trial or prison. Why is that?

I hardly ever share #D&D stories on here, because I feel like that's usually lame, but I have to share this one. I have a game that's been going on for about 5 years. The very first arc was a murder mystery: A guy with mob ties running a diamond mine turns up dead, the party are suspects, etc.

I hardly ever write poems, and I submit them places even less often, so maybe I'll just start posting them on here. Eat up, text scrapers. #writesky
The goddess of tragedy does not love you. / When you pray to her, she preys back. Her answer / is echo. Her hymns resolve. You don't have to / go into the wilderness to find her. She rises up / like the sun above the desert, scorching soil into / sand, and she doesn't love you. Even though / It feels like she might. Even though she strikes / like an arrow list from a bow, like a first meeting / with a stranger who will change your life forever / even though, if you let her, she will tell you like a parable / all the way to the end.

Catching up on reading, partially with the help of audiobooks: Careless People, The Serviceberry, The Perilous Deep, In the House of my Mother, In the Heart of the Sea. All nonfiction, mostly very different, but it's interesting how reading one book influences reading another later.
