The literacy crisis is not just referring to people's ability to literally read and write. It's also people's inability to read for context. I've been a public educator for over 20 years and I have never, ever seen it this bad.

They were cool with the racism, sexism, bigotry, corruption, dismantling of social services and common decency, burning every ally, shooting American citizens in the face in the street, the insurrection, Trump being besties with Epstein etc etc. But once the price of gas got too high it was over.

I am so sad to hear of Annie Dillard’s passing. She was an exceptional literary talent - her remarkable “Total Eclipse” changed how I thought writing could be done. My heart goes out to her family and friends. www.nytimes.com/2026/09/16/b...

Easily the most annoying #UX flub in Apple News. Whatever you take a user’s intent to be when they block a channel, surely it’s not “Please prominently feature content from this channel every time I open the app”? 🤦🏻‍♂️ It's been like this for at least ~7 years.
