Nekhii's (Нэхий) name is CANONICALLY misspelled by a certain barista. (and this is a personal attack) The barista says "Neh-kee" while the correct way is something like "Neh-hee" (even idk exactly 🧍‍♀️) She keep misspelling even after being corrected. But Nekhii really don't mind. 🤔 #brainachoz

I've been working on this for over a year: I'm remaking all of Ocarina of Time's prerenders in 3D, trying to match the N64 style rather than the 3DS one. The provisional name is OoT unJPEG. It will be distributed as both a romhack that runs on real N64 hardware and a mod for Zelda 64 Recompiled.

As of now we still don't have any solid proof to confirm that those designs are legit, aside from PR man stating that it is not genAI. We also cannot be 100% sure of it being genAI, however there's a lot of sus details, some also can be results of AI upscaling. This reddit comment is also important

Text on screenshot: I do want to throw my 2 cents in as an artist who has done work in the industry like this: this merch is not usually made in-house. Game studios frequently outsource merch and promotional artwork to freelance artists who they find on social media. This is usually contract work and it’s headhunted by the studio’s art directors a lot of the time. I’ve been scouted off Twitter, Artstation, and once even off FurAffinity (a lot of MtG card artists are furries, if you’ll believe me).

In the last few years, there’s a huge influx of competition pushing me and other artists in the industry I’m friends with out of these contracts. This competition comes from artists who are telling studios that they’re legitimate but who are not disclosing use of AI.

There have been many incidents with large game companies in the last few years hiring artists for contract work like this, but the artist doesn’t disclose AI use to the company.

I think they absolutely need to start vetting better and holding up art under the microscope. However, I don’t want people to have the mental image that there’s some SE exec sitting around AI generating pictures going “oh yeah, that’ll be GREAT for merch”. The unfortunately more likely case is that someone posing as a freelance artist lied to their team, and no one looked closely at the final product.

It's hard to say exactly what the budget is for GTAVI, but it's an easy bet the floor is a billion. At that metric they'd need to sell over 20 million immediately to recoup investment, and there's a very real chance the budget + marketing is higher. I do not look forward to GTA VI's release.

A message for my fans in Latin America. (plain text is in the image alt-text if you need it for translation.)

Recently, Fangamer asked me to make a post in Japanese regarding the translation of OFF.
Well...in the responses to that post, I noticed some frustration from Latin American fans. Let
me address a few of those issues now.

1. There is an officially licensed UNDERTALE concert series that unfortunately has no shows
planned in Latin America. I did retweet its schedule on request, but I have hardly any
involvement with the concert series and no input on where they perform. But, the organizers have heard the enthusiasm from Latin America, and I personally think it would be great to
have performances there. I hope it works out!

2. Fangamer’s shipping costs to Latin America are prohibitively expensive. As just one of
Fangamer’s clients, I am aware of this problem and I’ve asked them about possible solutions
before. I think it would be amazing if they could find affordable shipping to Latin America (and
other affected regions), but they have expressed that it’s a huge logistical hurdle. The other
shipping methods they’ve tried had a lost package rate of over 50%…

Still, I think Fangamer is interested in finding solutions, so I hope that we can figure out some way to get affordable merch to Latin American fans. Fangamer is very easy to work with and
truly passionate about the things they make. I really trust them and would prefer to collaborate
exclusively with them on merch.

3. Unfortunately, there are no translations for UNDERTALE into other languages besides
Japanese. That includes Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese, but also every other language –
Chinese, Korean, Russian, French, German, Italian, and more.

I know it sucks that there are no other official translations for UNDERTALE. But I want to
make it clear that this isn’t because I have a grudge against other countries. It’s because, if I
release something official, I want it to match my vision. I was only able to do this for the
Japanese version because I know Japanese myself, and I worked very closely with our
brilliant translator to thoroughly check the text. I am not against official translations for other languages if we could make it work the same way… In the past I have looked into various options with my publisher, 8-4, but nothing has come of that yet. Maybe I should try a different approach.

I’m very happy that there are unofficial translations on PC. Considering I don’t understand
other languages, letting fans interpret the game without the burden of being “officially” perfect is amazingly helpful.

As for DELTARUNE, it’s just not feasible from a development standpoint to support other
languages right now, since it would make the game take longer to come out...
