As punishment for his crimes, Sisyphus was made to endlessly roll a boulder up a steep hill in Tartarus. Hades enchanted the boulder into rolling away from Sisyphus before he reached the top, consigning Sisyphus to an eternity of useless efforts and unending frustration.
