It's hard not to fall in love with microsnails.
Me holding a small vial of even smaller helical snails between my thumb and forefinger. There are about 8 snail shells inside the vial, all less than 5 millimeters wide.

The Trump administration has delayed a final decision on Endangered Species Act protections for monarch butterflies, with a new deadline of June 6, 2030. Monarchs remain without protections while the decision is pending. The agency could act sooner, but this agreement allows years more of waiting. 😔

Don’t let poor weather stop you. Raise up that ISO and get the shot and worry about post processing later and yet another reason you should shoot raw whenever possible. Nikon Z9 and Sigma 150mm macro SS1/2500 F8 ISO6400! This is just adobe’s built in noise reduction.

I have photographed the infamous German yellowjacket before, as it is widely invasive around the world. But I'd never photographed one in Germany until this summer. This rather cooperative colony didn't mind my hanging around to shoot the workers cleaning excavated soil from the nest. Freiburg.
