There is not yet wide evidence that "gen AI" actually enhances researchers' and developers' results. Some of the most headline-grabbing work that claimed it does is now actively disavowed by the institution under which auspices it was done. That is a MASSIVE ding on the reliability of that research.

Yep. Publishers are WELL AWARE of this, too, otherwise they wouldn't bother with *any* book tours or ad campaigns. If they think something won't move the needle, they don't fork out. It's just that they only want to give those things to the authors who they want to sell well. *shrug*

Thinking about the future of publishing with increasing bans on queer books and my biggest conclusions are that we should free ourselves from digital book reading platforms to focus on downloadable epubs (like what you buy on itch and some other sites) but also paperbacks are really important.
