I ❤️ being a horror writer, b/c nobody suspects it. At parties, I look like a Mom on a beach vacation-big curly hair/linen pants/bright tops. Then they inquire about what I do- Suddenly, I'm the predator in their midst looking for compelling ways to murder people. Fun way to spend a Friday night!

This is nutso! 🤯 A woodpecker’s tongue is so long it literally wraps around their brain. Scientists used to think it acted as a shock absorber for the brain. But, recent studies challenge that. It’s actually used to snake down holes for bug.🐛 Another reminder that nature is absolutely bonkers.

My favorite coffee shop is a haven for real estate bros trying to make connections and get deals done. A flutter of handshakes, a flurry of backslaps, voices lowered for gravitas, chest puffed for importance as they clear cut and sub-divide what’s left of Central Florida.

Mt Mitchell, highest peak east of the Mississippi, wasn't named for the Mountain Man who lived on it & knew every inch. Instead, it's named for an out-of-town professor so stubborn he went wandering the peaks alone at night to win an argument. Slipped. Fell. Died. Mountain Man had to go fetch him🙄

Writers are famous for procrastinating. There's this new distraction-free typewriter. It was invented by a Doctor who wanted to write a book, but kept surfing the internet instead. Years later, still no book 😂, but he does have a new typewriter to sell. Peak Procrastination! Gold star!⭐

In Portugal, 1732 the world's oldest bookstore first opened. So old that humans still believed the universe ended at Saturn. The Livraria Bertrand is a palace to books. Definitely on my bucket list! What about your bucket list places?
