Yesterday, the CSSWG accepted my proposal for mesh gradients and diffusion curve gradients! Want to make gradients like this natively in CSS? Well, we've started the work on it. It's coming! Here's the Explainer: github.com/w3c/csswg-dr...

Langston treats Dylan with as much empathy as an ASD coded bureaucrat that canonically only cares about altered items and his cat can. Even Arish and other Rangers who are initially against him FOR GOOD REASON start trusting him in the end. Darling though? Genuinely a manipulative piece of shit.

Control Resonant is important because it's a game with a male protagonist who is not a emotionless stoic hypercompetent adonis who slides blandly into heroism, but is instead a sad loser who's kind of out of shape and really doesn't want to be here, but won't turn away from people who need help.

👀 Ooh, support for `interpolate-size: allow-keywords` and `calc-size()` in Safari Technology Preview 254. These two allow you to do things like animating elements to `height: auto`. Check developer.chrome.com/docs/css-ui/... to get the details.

There's precedent for styling nested instances of the same HTML element (ul ul), so I'd make _only nested_ fieldsets drop borders (and add some margin above): fieldset fieldset { border: 0; padding: 0; margin-block-start: .75em } and "resetting" either outer or inner style is a one-liner.

Sasha Chudesnov @chudesnov.social · 08/10/2026
Built-in border/padding do make nesting awkward, and DS that optimize for legibility (USWDS, GOV.UK) drop these altogether, relying on typography + spacing instead. I'd honestly lean towards that in my projects, but it doesn't have to be the default.

Sasha Chudesnov @chudesnov.social · 08/10/2026
fieldset { display: flow-root; margin: 0; padding: .75em; border: 1px solid; min-inline-size: auto; } legend { padding: 0; margin-block-end: .5em; font-weight: bolder; /* or just bold */ } min-inline-size is for use in grid containers, probably not critical.

I want the base style to be easily extendable, and neither trying to recreate the "native" look nor flipping it on its head; something largely consistent with base-select and the proposed base for button and input.

What do you want the new default styling to be for HTML fieldset? Here’s what it’s been forever — a box around things, with the legend text placed over the middle of the line at the top left. (See developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/W... for more.)
