This is it.
destruction of the notion of truth: we just won't be able to believe anything anymore. The placement of power within the hands of unelected tech billionaires, creating a kind of fascism.
And the total redefinition of the notion of art and creativity-away from the empathy of trying to see into somebody else's life and understand how somebody else sees the world, into a hall of mirrors, an infinite plane of utterly meaningless nonsense.

Actual Cancel Culture of a significant cultural figure [unlike where far right extremists engage in hate speech & are held accountable]. It’s extremism like this, & the disinterest of the current UK Labour govt in stopping the shift to the far right, that’s deeply worrying.

Plenty of opinion pieces have been and will be written about Hegseth's depraved plans to have a man killed in front of cameras. I doubt that any will be as eloquent and distressing as Thackeray's account of his witnessing the hanging of François-Benjamin Courvoisier on 6 July 1840.

Ukrainian presidential advisor Serhiy Beskrestnov confirms Elon Musk's Space X crippled Ukrainian capabilities last night. In other words, the US deliberately sabotaged European defence operations mid-mission. Every country in the world should move away from buying American hardware ASAP.
"I can confirm that tonight SpaceX has implemented a speed limit on Starlink terminals while in motion.

The limit currently applies to the StarShield “military package” and is set at 100 mph.

Our defense forces were not given notice of this limit, and this has resulted in the disruption of a number of missions.

It is clear that this action cannot be a coincidence and is related to the current political situation."

For example, AI "music" is proliferating on streaming platforms, especially Spotify, with thousands of new "tunes" registered every day by specialist companies, diminishing the already small pool of income which used to be distributed among actual musicians.

Oh OK, then. But treating this task as the sub-header implies: Not necessarily 9 all-time faves but albums that shaped my taste(s). Many others too, of course. Tried leaving one blank space to represent that there's always more music of any vintage that shape my perspectives, but it wouldn't let me.
