Hot take: I don't think social media made people dumber. We've been dumb this whole time. It's just that you used to have to have a job that people sent their dumb letters to, to notice. This made "Engaging with fools" an occupational hazard rather than the 24/7 experience it is presently.

Originalism reminds me of Conservative Christians who invoke draconian Old Testament scriptures when they don't like something Jesus taught. Cherry picking something a Founder said once is like leaning on a single law in Leviticus while ignoring all the inconvenient OT scripture that Jesus quoted.

Depends. When we were living on the UWS of Manhattan, we had 2 great little markets less than a block away. Fresh bread and fruit every day. Took a cab once every week or 2 to Fairway which was next to a Citarella with the best fish. Lots of choices, but idyllic. Other neighborhoods are different.
