Donors give huge sums to elect politicians to office. Elected officials rewrite rules in the donors' favor. Donors make huge profits while workers get shafted. Repeat. This is not a coincidence. It's a political-economic system that's been corrupted by design.

Today’s hearing into KPMG leadership revealed more evidence of a toxic culture of cover-ups, NDAs, payments for whistleblowers’ silence & weak accountability for wrongdoing. It's reinforced the need for an overhaul of the Big 4’s governance, regulation, surveillance & penalties.

Segal insists it’s too “difficult” to answer how she justifies attacking ABC’s Gaza coverage, when just 4 of “literally thousands” Ombudsman complaints are actually substantiated.🙄 Pathetic. Then attacks ombudsman’s “standards”, wants her personally endorsed standards. Dangerous.

When we say Australian universities have some governance issues, maybe we need to be a bit more specific, as in, "the Director of Governance at the University of Wollongong resigned one day before corruption hearings opened" www.abc.net.au/news/2026-06...

ICAC told favoured candidates got questions before uni's job interviews
A University of Wollongong governance manager has admitted that recruitment processes that led to her appointment were not fair or transparent.

This is exactly why language matters: “women were given the vote” frames equality as a gift from men, instead of hard won political power extracted through organized resistance. Nobody gave women anything. Women fought, marched, strategized, endured violence, went to prison and died for it.

We can’t expect the largely billionaire controlled main stream media to criticize the corruption of President’s son in law when that President has seen to it that both he and those same billionaires have grown vastly more wealthy under his corrupt administration. This is how a Plutocracy works.

This is total horseshit. The NDIS incentivizes shonks and ticket clippers to provide dodgy services and "assistance" at higher costs to people with disabilities.
AFR screenshot

We need to flip the script on NDIS incentivising disabilities
Instead of rewarding psychological fragility, our government must stop incentivising young Australians to medicalise everyday struggles and anxieties and encourage resilience.

"Vance" is a useful new verb in the English language, and one consistent with our Latinate heritage. Compare: ➡️ ADVANCE: To move something forward. ⬅️ VANCE: To cause a situation to decline or devolve. In a sentence: "Donald Trump's second term vanced the American economy."
