Their brains have been (hopefully) temporarily altered to be cruel and psychopathic.
Do people's brains get altered when they continuously consume propaganda messages that promote attacking and dehumanizing others that don't belong in their group?
Yes, continuous consumption of dehumanizing propaganda alters how the brain processes social information, effectively "rewiring" neural responses to others.
Neurological and psychological research highlights several specific ways the brain is affected:
Shifting from Social to Object Processing: Propaganda that compares people to animals or "pests" can shift neural processing away from the circuitry used to consider fellow humans toward circuits used for inanimate objects. This neurologically "removes" human qualities from the target, diminishing the brain's natural concern about harming them.
Dampening Empathy Networks: Chronic exposure to hate speech and dehumanizing messages has an automatic dampening effect on the neural mechanisms of pain empathy. This means the brain no longer responds as robustly to the suffering of the dehumanized group.
Reducing Mentalizing Ability: Research from the University of Warsaw shows that even brief exposure to hateful comments reduces activity in the right temporal parietal junction (rTPJ), a brain region critical for "mentalizing"—the ability to take another's perspective and understand their mental state.Bypassing Logic for Fear: Targeted propaganda often uses fear to bypass the logical prefrontal cortex and go directly to the fight-or-flight regions (like the amygdala). Repeated activation of these pathways makes them more "hardwired" and harder to turn off, even when presented with contradictory facts.
General "Empathic Numbing": Interestingly, this effect is not always limited to the target group. High exposure to hate speech can lead to a more general state of empathic numbing, where the individual's overall ability to empathize with any other person—including those in their own group—is diminished.
While the brain is fundamentally changeable and can "unlearn" these patterns, the more these neural circuits are reinforced by repeated propaganda, the more ingrained and difficult to reverse they become.

Continued immersion in right-wing propaganda, or any highly partisan, ideologically rigid media, can profoundly affect brain function by reinforcing specific cognitive biases, altering emotional regulation, and encouraging rigid, black-and-white thinking. Research suggests this type of exposure can "hardwire" the brain to process information in a more reactive, emotionally charged manner rather than a logical one. 1. Neural and Cognitive Changes
Reduced Cognitive Flexibility: Long-term exposure to rigid ideologies is linked to a decline in the brain's ability to process complexity and a reduced tolerance for ambiguity, often referred to as cognitive closure.
"Hardwiring" of Beliefs: Repetition of propaganda, particularly in emotional contexts, strengthens neural pathways that prioritize in-group beliefs, making the brain more resistant to contradicting evidence.
Altered Perceptual Processing: Studies indicate that "extremist minds" may show a more cautious, yet impulsive, cognitive style, with a tendency toward slower, more dogmatic processing.
2. Emotional Regulation and Threat Detection
Amydgala Activation (Fight-or-Flight): Propaganda that emphasizes threats (e.g., to national identity, economic security) keeps the amygdala—the brain's fear center—on high alert. This leads to chronic stress, anxiety, and a feeling that constant vigilance is necessary.
Increased Negativity Bias: Repeated exposure to negative or fearful messaging trains the brain to focus on, and remember, threat-based information over positive or neutral information. 3. Biased Information Processing
Neural Synchrony within Ideology: Individuals who consume the same partisan media develop "neural synchrony," meaning their brains process information in the same way, fostering "us vs. them" mentalities.
Motivated Reasoning and Illusory Truth: The brain begins to prioritize consistent, familiar, or emotional messages over facts (the "illusory truth effect"), which can make it increasingly difficult to distinguish reality from propaganda.
Reduced Empathy for Out-groups: Consistent exposure to dehumanizing language can suppress activity in brain areas responsible for empathy when viewing members of the "out-group," facilitating prejudiced attitudes.
4. Psychological and Behavioral Effects
"Doomscrolling" and Addiction: Algorithms that drive propaganda are often designed to trigger high emotion (anger or fear), which can be addictive, causing the brain's reward system to crave more high-stress, negative content.
Normalization of Extreme Views: As the propaganda becomes part of the individual's daily routine, extreme views may become internalized and normalized, shifting the person's perception of "normal" behavior.
Note: While these effects are strongly associated with extreme propaganda consumption, research on ideological brains generally shows that these mechanisms can apply to extreme, rigid, or dogmatic thinking across the political spectrum.

And now comes the most nauseating part of this whole goddamn mess: the hypocrisy. The same loud-mouthed idiots who spent years screaming about tyranny are suddenly dead fucking silent, or worse, cheering, now that it's their side doing it. "ThEy'Re cOminG fOr OuR gUnS!" "GoVerNMenT oVerReAch!" "ShAll nOt bE inFrinGeD!" All that chest-thumping bullshit evaporated the second armed federal agents started terrorizing people they don't like.
Let me get this straight: a civilian gets shot dead by federal agents, and the only thing you brainless cunts can muster is
"well, DHS says he had a gun"? THAT'S your red line? Guns are sacred when they're strapped to your waist, but magically become a death sentence when they're used as a post-hoc excuse by the government? Either the Second Amendment applies to everyone, or you never believed in it at all. Fucking pick one and own it.
This is exactly what tyranny looks like, by the way. Not jackboots marching in formation, but armed agents roaming neighborhoods, stopping people, killing civilians, and then daring the public to question it. Tyranny is execution followed by a press release. Tyranny is labeling the dead a "threat" so the state doesn't have to explain why someone's life just ended in the street. Tyranny is demanding obedience while shredding due process and calling it order.
And all you so-called "freedom lovers" are fucking fine with it, as long as it's brown people, immigrants, protesters, or anyone you've already dehumanized. Turns out "don't tread on me" actually meant "tread on them." You weren't afraid of tyranny.
You were afraid of losing dominance. There's a difference, and this moment exposes it completely.
"Just comply" isn't a principle. It's cowardice dressed up as common sense. It's the language of people who have already accepted that the state gets to decide who deserves rights and who doesn't. And once you make that deal, don't act shocked when the line moves, because it always fuckin…

The headline is still too timid for what the reporter wrote about the incident in details.
The man appears to resist as agents grab his legs, push down on his back and strike him repeatedly. This video does not show what led to the episode.

The footage shows an agent approaching and grabbing at the man as other agents hold him down.

An agent appears to pull a gun from out of the scrum.

Simultaneously, another agent unholsters his firearm. That agent aims at the man’s back and appears to fire one shot at close range. He then appears to continue firing at the man, who collapses.

Two agents appear to fire at the man as he is motionless on the ground.

In total, at least 10 shots appear to have been fired within five seconds, according to the video.

Footage of the encounter shows the man was holding a phone in his hand, not a gun, when federal agents took him to the ground and shot him. There was no evidence that the man who was fatally shot opened fire.
