My lab strives to reduce infertility, miscarriages, and birth defects. We want y’all to have healthy kids. I know it sounds weird, but indirect costs pay for lights, HVAC, maintenance, cleaning, safety, and admin. It’s really hard to reduce birth defects in the dark. Call your representatives

Hello world! I am a #NewPI starting my lab at Lehigh University after completing my postdoc training with @adernburg.bsky.social at UC Berkeley. My lab explores how quality control is achieved during meiosis, by combining cell biology, genetics, and more. Excited to (re)connect here! #Meiosis4Eva

The Liu Lab at Lehigh studies how cells ensure accurate chromosome segregation during meiosis, the fascinating cell division process that generates sperm and eggs with exact half our genome. We use the nematode C. elegans as a primary model organism in our research. Shown here are meiotic cells in an adult C. elegans worm, with chromosomes in purple and nuclear envelope in green.

The Liu Lab is on the Mountaintop campus of Lehigh University, which is located in eastern Pennsylvania and within commuting distances to a number of major cities on the East Coast!
