Let's do a story time here.
I was working on my dreamy passionate Roguelike game for the last 6 months or so. On top of that, I've been doing short videos on Youtube, Instagram, and Tiktok + posting frequently on X, Thread, Mastodon, and Bluesky. It was exhausting.. And the worst part, it only gained 150-ish Wishlists.
One day, I just said F all of this, it ain't working. Let's make a short incremental game like last time, it did give me a little money to live with. If I had just spent that 6 months on it, I could get 2 or 3 games.
So, I started making Master Healer Kale. The plan was

1. Create a game as soon as possible
2. Send keys to content creators before Steam Next Fest
3. Enter Steam Next Fest in June
4. Release the game in July

That's it! I'm making this game in 35 days-ish. Using a LOT of assets and code from my previous games. I didn't do playtests (Well, I did give my wife a try. She knew how to heal and how to upgrade skills. That was it.), I didn't prepare a demo, I hardcoded all texts, and worked on the game for 12+ hours a day.

Trans people are particularly vulnerable to COVID. As are neurodivergent people. This is because of social determinants of health. We're more likely to be exposed to sickness, less likely to be able to get good care, and more likely to be discriminated against and/or isolated during care.

I spent two days at a large con (PAX West) and masked the whole time except for like 20-30 minutes once or twice a day to eat and drink water in the more isolated media room. Didn't get sick while a lot of others did.
