Great talk by Wendy Chung (Boston Children's Hospital): “Mendelian Diseases: Too Rare to Care?” Rare diseases are individually rare but collectively common (>50% of pediatric inpatients). Shared biology + connected communities accelerate progress. Early diagnosis = earlier, more effective treatment.
