Do not normalize children dying from measles. Measles was previously eliminated in the US, thanks to vaccines. When children die from measles, it means that adults have catastrophically failed to protect them because they have rejected basic science.

I’ve watched Adolescence twice now. Completely gutted both times. So real, so powerful. I have a few critiques but can’t remember the last time a show hit me so hard. I’m definitely not alone in this feeling.

These stories are always troubling and staff need to be protected at all costs. There is good evidence on implementing relational security practices to help reduce instances of violence, rather than a focus on physical and procedural security. It’s worth being part of these discussions.

I feel torn right now about defending science in the face of attacks on scientists and scientific evidence in the US and beyond. In championing science, we have to remain cautious about reinforcing a particular kind of reductive positivism. Defending science also means defending its critiques.

40 mg is 0.04grams. Fentanyl on the streets is sold as a point. 0.1 of a gram. 10 points equals 1 gram. 1000 mg equals 1 gram. 40mg is a minuscule amount. Basically every single person using fentanyl would be locked away for life.
