Have some concept art from The Prince of Egypt by Paul Lasaine. The detail in these paintings really is striking, especially knowing how they translated into the final film.

For those wondering, the version of Thief and The Cobbler shown ("A Moment in Time") is Williams' original workprint version. It has never been released publicly due to international rights mumbo jumbo

A screening of The Thief and the Cobbler at the Toronto International Film Festival and it will be presented by M asaaki Yuasa? Count me in! Also neat of how he chose other animated films and series, some of which were my personal favourites.

It's especially bizarre to do it with this movie, seeing as it's not on streaming and the rare DVD that exists of it is going for insane prices on places like eBay. Universal is making no money at all from "Felix the Cat: The Movie", outside of claiming YouTube videos, I guess.

So all this to say that, because of how Felix was caught in the middle of ownership switches both big and small, that's why I'm in this bad position where I got a strike and a few claims for my Felix the Cat: The Movie videos from one of the most unforgiving companies in terms of copyright.

And for the past 12 years, both companies have done next to nothing with the character, mainly just keeping him to say "This is mine" and be like that nugget-munching CEO in Smiling Friends.

I see a lot of confusion as to why Universal gave me the strike and claims for my Felix the Cat videos. Well, the easy answer is that Universal owns the IP. But they didn't directly go and buy the cat directly. This happened because of a chain of events that occured in the last decade.

I think it's going to flop badly. Tech bros live in this fantasy world where suddenly all movies will become AI-generated nonsense, while showing off the most ugly and unappealing looking thing ever. I've yet to see a Gen AI image or video that didn't look horrendous.

Randy Newman recorded a demo track for “If I Didn’t Have You” that made it to Monsters, Inc.’s soundtrack. As grand as Mike and Sully’s version in the film may be, there’s something poignant about a rendition where Newman does the whole song himself in the confines of his personal recording booth.

I love it when celebrities decide to have humorous quotes or sayings on their gravestones showing how much they loved giving joy even from beyond the grave.

The grave of Rodney Dangerfield saying “There goes the neighbourhood.”

The grave of Mel Blanc saying “That’s All Folks” “Man of 1000 Voices

The grave of Leslie Nielsen saying “Let ‘er rip.”

The grave of Peter Falk saying “I’m not here, I’m home with Shera.”

As I go on with the Halloween marathon, I had included two powerful animated shorts being UPA's take on The Tell-Tale Heart by Edgar Allen Poe, Hangman (1964), based on the poem by Maurice Ogden, and two Scary Godmother specials, both of them being based on the comic series by Jill Thompson.

People don’t seem to realize some recent original films DID have prominent marketing, Wish and Hoppers especially, with the latter actually making money as a result. I feel there might be far more confidence in Gatto, so that film’s marketing should feel more prominent too.

Anything that is fully generative AI trying to pass itself off as animation is not animation, nor even a film. I will never take it seriously since all it does is steal and I'd rather see real art come from real people than thieving machines.
