St. Sabina Catholic Church in Chicago has placed more than 100 crosses outside the parish. Each bears the name of someone who died in ICE custody or during an immigration enforcement action. Union workers built the traveling memorial, which began at Holy Name Cathedral last month.

Excited as I was, I entered into this movie with mixed feelings and worried. It would have been very easy for this to feel exploitative. It never did. They really scratched at a scab on the back of American society here in an extremely satisfying way.

when i worked in the Chemical Industry, everyone i worked with treated the EPA like a sworn enemy. they would get mad about EPA inspections that followed releases of incredibly toxic organometallic sludge into the ohio river. one of my coworkers from back then died at work, from the sludge
