For me the LCP for the main feed and messages pages are quite slow. Interactions can feel a bit jank at times too. The CrUX data seems to agree. treo.sh/sitespeed/ww... I do enjoy how it cuts down on ads

I’ve enjoyed skimming through some of the md files. It’s a solid collection of hard and fast rules for modern web dev. I wonder how this could be leveraged to generate summarized educational material for humans, too. I guess I could ask an agent to come up with a lesson plan based on MWG. 🤔

I like how this example shows that style queries lead to less surprises (cascade specificity). I’m struggling with this use case, though. With classes, I would exclusively set the class to normal or warning directly on the banner. Why style a banner with parent and grandparent containers instead?

A minor tradeoff is that text selection is disabled for the list item content; That's probably fine for the provided examples, but could be problematic for more dense cards. Card accessibility is tough! Lots of approaches, so patterns are inconsistent across the web.

Polymer came out right as I finished up undergrad. Used it at an internship and that’s when my love for the web began. I remember setting up Polymer apps with Yeoman, Bower, etc. Such a different era!

Vue’s “quick start” guide omits routing. vuejs.org/guide/quick-... They provide guidance for folks looking to add routing. vuejs.org/guide/scalin... Perhaps it’s not equivalent to CRAs goals, but I like the approach. Their docs also help you understand when a meta framework is more appropriate.

I use this feature when measuring pixels with the built-in screenshot utility. I can zoom in to be more precise without affecting the pixel calculation. One of my favorite little things about using a Mac!

I think a lot about how the principles of design and UX are fundamentally incompatible with capitalism; at a certain point, they have opposing priorities. That means if you're in the field, your company is paying you to care about something it will never care about. And that's a recipe for burnout.
