You’ve gotta use AI because it’s the future. But also it’ll take your job. But also it’ll create a paradise on earth and solve most of our problems. But also it’ll end humanity soon. But also you’ll get left behind if you don’t use it right now.

I’m sorry to report that the apocalypse is going to look
very cool for a little while before it fully kicks in. Not
up close obviously. You wouldn’t want that. I mean
from the safety of a camera’s framing. Debuting for
us an entire new palette of prismatic skies with each
disastrous iteration.
The smoke was bad enough this week that you had
to contend with it no matter how far you lived from
the nucleus. Plan around it. Never not be aware of it.
Even career smokers going well this fucking blows.
I can’t breathe right and everything smells like shit.
More so than usual.
Just because you’re used to inhaling one type of
smoke doesn’t make you less susceptible to a second
unrelated kind. How you might share a common
language with someone but their accent is unintelligible.
I’m embarrassed to say that I honestly kind of thought
that it might and that one is on me.
This varietal was wafting in southerly with an
aroma of peaty whisky which also paired very poorly
with drinking an actual peaty whisky. You might
think the flavor profiles would mingle well but you
would be wrong.
I thought of a fly swimming for ten glorious final
seconds in an unattended beer glass on a patio bar.

Come here though real quick dear. Look at this
picture. It’s a splintered electrical pole halved into an
accidental crucifix. It’s dangling from melting power
lines in the very eye of a mountainous inferno. Almost
as if it were hovering in mid air.
It looks like something out of real life.

As one New York financier told Financial Times journalist Gillian Tett, new hires who were seen as “AI natives” are turning out to have alarmingly shallow ideas. So much so, the anonymous finance worker admitted, that his firm now actively avoids seeking out AI-literate STEM graduates, and opts to comb through humanities students instead.

The difference between you and your government is much bigger than the difference between you and me. And the difference between me and my government is much bigger than the difference between me and you.

And our governments are very much the same."

Leo directly appeals to AI developers, making an analogy to ethics and art: "Technological innovation can represent human participation in the divine act of creation. Developers, therefore, bear a particular ethical and spiritual responsibility, for every design choice reflects a vision of humanity"
