Woodworm and wood weevils can turn any document into a fine mesh of losses, which is why archives have policies and procedures in place - such as quarantining new accessions - to stop pests getting into the stores. #EYAErased #ArchiveConservation

#OTD in 1933 the short-lived #BritishMuseum tube station in High Holborn was closed. #LondonTransportMuseum recently donated some cancel ticket punches from the station to the British Museum #archive, & shared charts showing the different shapes of the punches for each station. Thank you LTM!

I’ve had a mildly traumatic experience. The beer can must have been shaken in transit as the contents sprayed *everywhere* on opening. What was left of the non-alcoholic pale ale is not even that nice. Consoling myself with the mini poppadoms. Cheers, I guess. #ConfinedCocktails

You would be expected to try to attend our monthly committee meetings, and catch up with notes/ actions afterwards. The Secretary role is a roughly 4/5 hour commitment each month (including the monthly meeting)."
