I just found this at the bottom of a news report on a murder. Weird little peek at how the sausage is made. ("Dryden" appears to be the name of the attributed author on the story. The source is ABC7 News in the SF Bay area.)

The most protection I ever experienced as a woman was between the ages of 21 and 30 when I worked in strip clubs. There, if a man touched me wrong I was allowed to punch him. All I had to do was point and a team of bouncers would throw out the offending party. I once kicked a man full in the face.

It's a little weird watching people light up incandescent about the Cornell thing because while they're not wrong*, I've seen people get exactly this mad about exactly these aspects of how universities handle rape cases (and yes, it's all universities) and nothing changes but who's yelling.
