The Independent has a photo of the slide we weren't able to see during the Smith hearing. No texts from Smith in it.
JP Cooley: Is 109 Row 1 reserved for Jack?
JP Cooley: Damn. Thank you for saving -- but we are good. Ask Harbach.
Gavin Wallach: He is already down here. Thanks.

@lucaskaplan.bsky.social loved your and Erik’s review of the Nets offseason on the LockedOn Pod. One topic I’d love your thoughts on is the potential impact of Randle on Mikel & Egor’s development. Does his ability to slot them into roles help more than his propensity to hold the ball hurts?

This is chock full of really interesting quotes. I thought this one in particular gave a lot of insight into the state of the league and deal making at the moment
“It’s tough, but not as much about the aprons, but by how many things can cause you to have a hard cap at the first or second apron,” an Eastern Conference executive opined. “We’ve rarely gone deep into the tax like you have to for the second apron. But so many things can hard cap you at the first apron now, that you have be really cautious. Twice over the past few years, we put an extra player in a trade, just to make sure we didn’t trip a first-apron hard cap. That’s not a great place to be.”

#NetwWorld nice little (Mikel-focused) Brooklyn Backcourt discussion at the ~16:10 mark or so. Great to hear some enthusiasm from national guys (although Dunker Spot is quite thorough so it’s no surprise!) Stay for the meditations on a potential Libs v Valkyries first round series as well

they paid $13.5 million annually (for two years) to get a much better player (sorry Nic love you) and move up five spots in the draft while opening a pathway for Nic's potentially better, lower-cost backup to start games they're not gonna engrave it on Marks' headstone but it's solid

Especially true bc the core strategic benefit of the process was dressing up “exploiting a gray area not explicitly defined in the rules” as “innovation” and it left the league irrevocably damaged in its wake. Only difference is Hinkie got fired and Elon & his ilk are now technofeudal overlords

🎯 No one gets the Nets better than @lucaskaplan.bsky.social & this is a succinct & perfect encapsulation of where the Nets, their picks, & the FO are. IMO “.5 second bball” is prescient, but compounding the risk of lacking force (esp as the league pendulum swings in that direction) is tough
Screenshot of article text reading: But watching these NBA Playoffs, I can’t help but worry about Dëmin’s ultimate ceiling while seeing a player like CMB, who has tremendous feel but also unteachable strength, thrive. Pardon the cliché, but the postseason, as disparate from regular-season ball as it has ever been, demands extreme physicality and explosion. It demands ball-handlers who can create offense from thin air and navigate traffic. This may not be a Dëmin complaint as much as it is a Nets front office complaint, a group that, under Sean Marks, has often faded physicality and explosion.
