This is the second time in my life that a well-intentioned vaccination has made a pre-existing condition exponentially worse. The first time a hepatitis B vaccination activated a previously dormant form of hepatitis C. That was in 1997 and it only really got better with the hep c cure in 2018 […]

The False-Negative Problem With Rapid Antigen Tests

Rapid antigen tests (RATs) are fast and convenient - but they miss a lot of infections, and the miss rate isn't a fixed number. It depends almost entirely on viral load, timing, and whether you have symptoms. 🎯

The headline finding: in asymptomatic people, more than half of infections

This is the question that won't go away - what can we objectively measure in people who were barely sick during the acute phase?🧵

I’m always taken aback by people calling the COVID-conscious “doomers,” as though we’re predicting some hypothetical catastrophe rather than witnessing one already unfolding.

Some forms of impending doom may be real, but they remain abstract until they occur. Hundreds of millions of people have already experienced Long Covid, however.

There’s nothing hypothetical about COVID consciousness. It’s an acknowledgment of reality.

The vast majority of kids benefiting from this public funding for private school are white — in a city where Black and brown students experience systemic educational disparities and are disproportionately represented among students with disabilities. Of roughly 20,000 due process cases settled in fiscal year 2025, about 65% involved white students, even though they only make up 16% of the public school population.
