Assassin's Apprentice - Robin Hobb, 1995. Hobb is well regarded, and it's obvious why. The world is vivid, the characters interesting, and their issues and difficulties compelling. Damn fine fantasy.

A Mask For The Sun - Kay F. Atkinson, 2025. Been trying to finish @tinylesbianrobot.itch.io's Fleet and Fabricant series for yonks, but we finally got there. Its good science fiction and good horror. A bit unpleasant to be inside, and Cora's head isn't the easiest place to spend time. But it hits!

Tiny little way to add some reo into your life that I have adopted. Instead of saying "Mississippi" or "potato" when counting out seconds, use the 4 syllable Māori place name of your choice. I have landed on "Whakatane" for some reason but the options are many, "Ōtepoti", "Rangiora", "Papanui" etc.

Thinking about a Reacher TTRPG. Reacher has 2 stats - Large and Smart. If Reacher’s Large score is larger than his opponent’s, he automatically defeats them. Evil conspiracies have a group Large score, and Reacher needs to use his Smart to split off smaller chunks that he is Larger than.
