Working on something ambitious yet awesome for a night sky + nature art show! First layer complete—blocking in colors on the saguaro 🌵 and Arizona sunset
16x20” painting on easel. A blooming saguaro is in the foreground with mountains, hills, and a vibrant sky at sunset. There are 9 horizontal rectangles that were taped off, so they are the blue under painting color. The rectangles start at the top of the piece and get larger approaching the bottom

If @science.org is covering it, I guess I should share something here- we have for the first time definitively detected radio emission from a planet around another star! 🔭🧪🎢 What does this mean? Details in thread! (But TL;DR- still not aliens) 🧵 www.sciencenews.org/article/exop...

New Yorkers should know whether the apartment they’re looking at is real. That’s why we’re working to require apartment listings to clearly disclose when images and videos have been generated by AI. Finding a home in New York is hard enough without artificially generating more problems.

We also used the framework by Emily Calamari to predict the types of clouds expected to form in the brown dwarf companions based on the host star Mg/Si ratio! We can also look at comparing the Mg/Si ratio of the host with the inferred Mg/Si ratio from BD companion via retrieval analysis.

We sought out to "Know Thy Star, Know Thy Brown Dwarf", as a lot of retrieval analysis and forward modeling of brown dwarfs in companions systems have made assumptions about host stars being solar-like. But is this true? We use the code BACCHUS to find out! Look at that beautiful spectra from PEPSI!
