RW economists respond to rate rise by calling for, Increased GST, cuts to govt spending and increased productivity. No mention of poor management systems, increased company profits, declining business investment, increased executive salaries. Just screw battling Australians 🤬

The same conflicted media & right wing parties who are now demanding the govt “slash spending” spent all year pushing for more spending on tax breaks for wealthy investors. Let’s be real: they love spending. They just hate funding things that actually matter. #auspol

Hell yes, @cathywilcox.bsky.social
When contacted by SkyNews.com.au at the time, Ms Wilcox unleashed an extraordinary expletive-laden rant.

“Why in God's name do you think I would answer the questions of Murdoch's petty little propaganda operation, to give them more fuel for their campaign of hatred?” she said.

“The irony of me having to answer to charges of hatred when your grubby outfit gives not one shit about what you do to people you target.

“Remind the boss about how much they cared about free speech when one of theirs was in the spotlight.

“Political correctness gone mad, eh? You and your hit squad goons can fuck right off.”

Except every time I see high productivity I translate it as higher privatised profits, and that is a lousy measure of anything at all.

#ClimateActionNow Solar panels are often now elevated so that sheep can graze underneath them. Dew runs off them, making the paddocks more drought resistant. The sheep get shade underneath them. Productivity of both wool and meat is increased, farmers get static income from the lease. Win win!!😍

Can journalists stop labelling politicians like Hastie, Joyce, Canavan, and Antic as "conservative". They are the opposite: radical right misogynist ideologues following American christo-fascist campaigning to strip women [and anyone else who isn't a straight white man] of their rights. #auspol

I’ve seen some think pieces arguing that Labor’s election victory means News Corp no longer have power in Australian politics. These views ignore the fact - as per my academic work - that News Corp and the Liberal Party are so intertwined that neither leads and neither follows - they work together.

No idea why media still depicts Nats as a farmers party. They are a mining party beholden to coal and gas interests and funded by Gina Rinehart. When there is a conflict between farmers and fossil fuels, they always back fossil fuels. Their opposition to wind is to protect fossil fuels for longer.

Beyond Dutton's loss, this is a chance for a new type of politics in Australia
The comprehensive nature of this win gives Anthony Albanese the chance to change the narrative of our politics.

If the Albanese government is re-elected, it needs to do more
If Albanese and Labor don’t do something with power to measurably improve people’s lives this time around, they risk losing it all.

Murdoch’s empire backs Dutton hard … again. Every major News Corp paper cheers the Coalition. Non-Murdoch media? Mostly Labor, with reservations. Democracy, brought to you by editorial boards and billionaires. We deserve better than this slop we call the Australian mainstream media. #auspol

Who’s backing who? Every major newspaper’s pick for prime minister
A slim majority of newspapers have gone against the expectations of the pollsters to back the Coalition to win power.
