We’re preparing an exciting programme:

→ Creative workshops: giant cardboard sculptures, puppets, nonsensical poetry, songs for action and more

→ Thought-provoking activities: futuristic coffee-ground readings, 3D-printed musical instruments, live music jam guided by the machines

→ Performances: Stop Shopping Choir, Algorave - verses and live-coding performance

The tech collective behind NoBlogs.org and a host of other free online initiatives has announced that they are shutting down as a consequence of the US State Department designating them a "global terrorist." This represents a significant blow to online freedom. keepitfree.ai/announcement...
The day we discovered we had been designated a global terrorist organization, we promised that we would try to resist as long as this was possible, that we would not back down as long as we could see options to stand our ground. For years, we have proudly maintained and defended a free, privacy-friendly, autonomous and politically committed infrastructure.

“Stay human” is not an empty phrase to us.

It means, above all, that we have a responsibility to protect our users, those who build the human networks we rely, and for the communities who flooded us with messages of support and solidarity. Now turn off your PCs, get out of your homes, struggle, hug each other and keep on smiling. We are stopping, but the Resistance and ideas do not stop. Stay human.

We will soon send instructions on how to back up the content of your blogs, mailboxes and websites, along with more technical recommendations. But keep in mind that, just as the autistici.org domain was made unreachable without previous notice, in the next few days we might suffer similar issues that we may not be able to predict.

"Manifesto Triptych" by Josh MacPhee! Experimental risograph posters reimagining concepts from the Communist Manifesto. justseeds.org/product/mani...
I originally began creating a series about the Communist Manifesto back in 2013, as part of the Justseeds' exhibition Uprisings! Images of Labor" in Milwaukee in 2013. The idea behind the exhibition was to create representations of contemporary labor, but I find it increasingly difficult to clearly articulate what labor looks like in the United States in 21st Century. With cell phones, tablets, wifi, work from home, and now AI—with more jobs more precarious than ever—there is an expectation that everyone can and will be willing to work all the time. For more and more people there is no longer clear geographical distinctions between the work place and anywhere else, and less and less temporal distinctions as well.

On This Day in London greenspace history, 1871: court ruling protects Tooting Common against development
Saving Tooting's Commons After a struggle lasting a number of years, an attempt to enclose and build over a large part of Tooting’s Commons was defeated in 1871, when a court blocked the enclosures. Over the next four years later the Commons were bought for the public. But the road by which public access for this lovely open space was saved was rocky and involved some skullduggery, sabotage and tangled legal negotiations… What is now known as Tooting Common consists of two older commons, 144-acre Tooting Bec Common and 63-acre Tooting Graveney Common.
