I gave ChatGPT a simple construction project: mount a brace and a face plate across three rafters to secure a telescoping mast for a small radio. I provided goals, materials, and dimensions, and asked it for some drawings. The drawings are the most cursed thing I've ever seen. Here's one example.

Hard to describe. It's a detailed illustration with labels and arrows but every single piece of lumber and every bracket and fastener are just wrong--misshapen, wrong dimensions, wrong type, wrong in every way.
