I'm a white supremacist because I recognize minorities face systemic challenges and therefore think there should be programs in place to reduce said challenges?

This is how it goes when you appease bullies. They demand more. First, it was about "fentanyl and illegal crossings." Then, it was about steel and defense spending. And now it's the digital services tax, one of the few tools we have for protecting Canadian media. Carney will likely fold, again.

Poilievre would require a referendum for every federal tax increase??? First, a referendum would be incredibly expensive (electoral reform would have cost $300 million, for example) Second, good luck ever raising taxes again (including on the rich!)

Bloc met 2/3 requirements: 1) Having a minimum of 4% support in the polls, and 2) Having at least one elected MP in the party. Unfortunately for the greens they didn't have candidates running in at least 90% of the ridings, AND they have less than 4% support.

why is *every* newspaper/programme running with the headline "tariffs are paused" when they haven't been. What's happened is that every country (except China) gets a flat rate of 10% for 90 days.

i feel like the ndp is just grasping at straws and it shows how jagmeet has completed a much longer process of hollowing out any convictions the party once had. i don’t want four years of liberal majority, but it may be the ndp’s last chance to reinvent itself as a real left-wing alternative.

A tricky thing about modern society is that no one has any idea when they don’t die. Like, the number of lives saved by controlling air pollution in America is probably over 200,000 per year, but the number of people who think their life was saved by controlling air pollution is zero.

Sure, but you still need to decide which direction to move in. The same party which has left leaning members like Karina Gould, also has right leaning members like Christy Clark. My point is the latter half are the ones who ultimately prevailed in steering the direction of the party.

Why do you think that is? How is it that all our parties, including our progressive parties, are moving more to the right? I think that's indicative of key persons within the parties moving the overall party.

You can answer this by looking at the CPC, they've shifted from being somewhat moderate conservatives under Harper to more right-wing under Poilievre. Similar to the NDP with Mulclair dragging them to the centre.

People don't miss manufacturing jobs. They miss the effects of having 30+ percent union density. And we can build worker power again, with good policies, for the jobs most working class people actually have today rather than hoping mumbo jumbo will make it 1955 again.

Lol why are you asking me, it wasn't my design. Point is they've been using this flag for a long time and it's a part of their identity. They're probably not gonna change it anytime soon. It's not helpful to accuse them of being facist when their actions don't reflect facist activity.

If city council/planners actually planned for affordability, they’d ban mansions, not apartments. They’d have lot size maximums, not lot size minimums. They’d have higher fees per sq ft of mansion, not apartments. They’d charge the rich in mansions more, not everyone else in apartments.

While we can argue about whether or not the flag is "nice," the simple fact that an eagle is on it does not make it facist. They're a literal trade union and have had the logo since 1962. This is like seeing a swastika in a temple and automatically assuming it's a facistic symbol. Context matters.
The Wikipedia page for the United Farm Workers union. In 1962, Richard Chavez designed the now iconic logo of the United Farm Workers, which features a black Aztec eagle. (Cesar Chavez chose the red and black colors of the union.) Decades later, U.S. President Barack Obama called the eagle "a symbol of hope that has helped carry the struggle for the rights of farm workers forward for almost five decades."
