Let's say it's an *additional* problem. On top of sky-high diesel, the impacts of tarrifs on their markets, and, in many cases, loss of farm workers. Just saying not every farmer and rancher voted for Trump, but they're hurt too. My sympathies for the Trump-voting farmers ARE limited.

Just want to observe that I heard an interview with a Black farmer (or maybe he was a rancher, but that is not central to the point), who definitely never voted for Trump but is being victimized just as much as the Trumpers— and more, because of cuts to benefits for Black farmers.

Any guesses if Helene affected outcome? E.g., those who worked on Lindsey Prather's '24 campaign believe that her/their switch from campaining to Helene recovery won her a lot of good will (though that wasn't her motive) in a district gerrymandered against her. As you know WNC trended more D in '24.

Thoughts on this in The New York Times? Yes, I understand that it is internal polling. My question is about the meaning of how the opponents are identified in two polls by the same outfit, plus, they know who the Republican is.

Polls in NC 11. One shows Ager +3, 47% to 44% against a generic republican. The other poll, also by public policy polling, a Democratic sponsor, shows republican +4, 50% generic Republican, 46% generic democrat.
