In the @thesaturdaypaper.com.au today I argue monetary policy has become broken. It is focused on wages when the problem is clearly supply shocks, profits and prices. Stephen Long's excellent piece highlights @isabellamweber.bsky.social alternatives www.thesaturdaypaper.com.au/news/economy...

Could a German economist fix the RBA’s inflation problem?
As the RBA admits interest rates are its only tool for managing inflation, alternative models propose dealing with supply shocks through price caps and strategic reserves.

Asset prices have been racing ahead of wages, while taxes often hit wages harder than capital gains. Tax changes begin to respond to the frustration felt by workers and renters, but spending priorities leave many behind. Great to speak with Stephen Long about #Budget2026

The US Holocaust Museum being more outraged by Tim Walz saying that, like Anne Frank, children today are in hiding from armed agents of the state, than they are about the fact that children are in hiding from armed agents of the state, is why Holocaust remembrance culture is in crisis.
Tweet from the US Holocaust Memorial Museum: "Anne Frank was targeted and murdered solely because she was Jewish. Leaders making false equivalencies to her experience for political purposes is never acceptable. Despite tensions in Minneapolis, exploiting the Holocaust is deeply offensive, especially as antisemitism surges."
