This is quite cool. My university is the first organisation in the world to force Microsoft to allow us to turn off copilot summaries in Word 365, after a backlash against it from staff (including, very vocally, me). That cannot have been easy for our heroic IT people so hats very much off to them!

Light rail drives development like nothing else. In 2026 alone, this new development is generating $35.7 million in property tax revenue that isn't falling to existing property owners, including $7.7 million for the City of Minneapolis and $4 million for Minneapolis Public Schools.

I sent a letter to the Minneapolis Board of Estimate and Taxation on the 2027 property tax levies. About 100,000 of my constituents live in Minneapolis. They get one tax bill based on all of our decisions. Read the letter: www.hennepind2.com/statements/2... 1/7
Purple graphic labeled Letter, to the Minneapolis Board of Estimate and Taxation, dated September 22, 2026. Headline: "My four specific asks," with "four" highlighted in green. Four white rows, each with a date and topic. September 23, Parks: set the Park Board's maximum levy at its full 5.86% request; 40-plus residents testified for parks at the BET's hearing, and the $3.1 million gap from the 2.5% placeholder equals 26 positions and full recreation center hours. October 14, TIF: present numerical analysis on how Minneapolis TIF decisions affect all local levies; captured value is subtracted from the taxable base that Minneapolis Public Schools, the City, and Hennepin County all levy against, so every dollar captured raises the rate paid by everyone else. October, Shelter: prioritize a larger, ongoing contribution from the City levy toward shelter and homelessness response; in 2025, City property taxes provided $400,000 for street outreach and $0 in ongoing funding for shelter operations, and County property taxes provided $14.4 million for the homeless crisis response system. September 28 and December 10, Overtime: study and manage law enforcement overtime costs, don't just budget for them; I ask that MPD present its overtime review on September 28, and that the Mayor file an overtime management plan before markup on December 10. Even being charitable to Frey, I can't come up with what series of events is supposed to have instigated his escalation against council (restricting staff from discussion/q&a). So I'm stuck with uncharitable: he doesn't want MPD leaders facing public discussion of overspending.

The problem is that "while you weren't looking the tech industry was comprehensively taken over by a cult based around a piece of Harry Potter fanfic" is self-evidently an absolutely ridiculous claim that can't possibly have happened, which is a real problem given that it 100% did happen.

I have long told my clients facing displacement that evictions are a form of violence. An eviction is never the first bad thing to happen to someone, and is often the tipping point that kicks off full-blown crisis and a rapid downward spiral. The shootings today were a tragedy beget by tragedy.

This is kind of a bold assertion for the "New York Times" to assert in a news article as though it is simply fact.
"“Memory fades after three generations,” Thomas Bagger, the German ambassador to Italy, told me. “Even the Holocaust does not resonate as it once did, and nor does the imperative of integration in Europe.”

Nazism and Fascism are not returning but nationalism, xenophobia and the war on its border present a serious challenge to the European Union, with Mr. Trump and President Vladimir Putin of Russia also seeking to weaken or even undo it."

Don’t read Frazier's 35.95% as a sign that Hennepin voters don’t want a progressive attorney. The data says the opposite. To start: Frazier finished first in 227 of 394 precincts. Folk: 1st in 74, 2nd in 115, and 3rd-5th in 206 (more than half the precincts in Hennepin County).
