All the dopes in the "Geez I dunno if Trump should be impeached" chattering coward class should maybe consider the idea of allowing a sitting President to act like this, over and over, with no repercussions.

As a Christian I don’t support the death penalty, but I don’t necessarily oppose it either. I.e. executing Nazis was the right thing to do after their trials. Executions should be rare and very difficult to achieve imo, but sometimes society makes that choice.

NYFed: By February 2026, Trump's tariffs had contributed 2.9 percentage points to consumer goods price inflation; without tariffs, goods prices would have fallen slightly. The tariffs raised the cost of imported goods AND their domestically-produced competitors.

I've heard people make claims that AI would lead to a new Renaissance, but I didn't imagine it'd happen like this:
Screenshot of a Tweet from Pope Leo XIV. It reads:

"In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgen to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity."

It is such a weak and fragile god who needs a political party, a president, a Supreme Court, and a nation to defend them and fight their battles for them. God does not need your defense. The poor, the hungry, the sick, the disabled, the children, the immigrant, and the powerless do.

Feminist theory remains undefeated in explaining the weirdest parts of the Trump administration. I'm just going to keep posting this skeleton-key-to-MAGA passage, written over 40 years ago, until everyone gets it.
"To say that straight men are heterosexual is only to say that they engage in sex (fucking exclusively with the other sex, i.e., women). All or almost all of that which pertains to love, most straight men reserve exclusively for other men. The people whom they admire, respect, adore, revere, honor, whom they imitate, idolize, and form profound attachments to, whom they are willing to teach and from whom they are willing to learn, and whose respect, admiration, recognition, honor, reverence and love they desire… those are, overwhelmingly, other men. In their relations with women, what passes for respect is kindness, generosity or paternalism; what passes for honor is removal to the pedestal. From women they want devotion, service and sex.

Heterosexual male culture is homoerotic; it is man-loving.”

Cato proves increasing taxes would be a step towards reducing the deficit. Y’all should combine this with increasing taxes on corporations with an AMT so they all pay taxes no matter how many write offs they have. Good work Cato!

Cato proves that taxing the rich is indeed a viable step to reducing, & perhaps eliminating, our disastrous & unsustainable debt. Taxes on corporations should be dramatically increased with an AMT so that corps pay taxes no matter how many write offs they have. Spending will also have to be cut.

This is probably unpopular on Bluesky, but I think what French is saying here is basically true. The IDEOLOGICAL foundations of the GOP, pre-Trump, have been razed to the ground. What he omits is that most GOP voters were instead attracted to certain EMOTIONAL undercurrents, out of which MAGA arose.
