In Opinion Almost 70 years after its inception, “The Twilight Zone” remains incredibly relevant, Alan Sepinwall writes. It tackled “prejudice, creeping authoritarianism, the dangers of humans being replaced by technology and the peril of conformity as a societal ideal in ways that still resonate.”

Astronomers still don’t know exactly what #darkmatter is, but they sure can detect it—and now so can you. Using a DIY pyramidal horn, an RTL-SDR, and some Excel curve fitting on hydrogen-line spectra, you can detect dark matter’s influence without ever leaving Earth. spectrum.ieee.org/dark-matter

You can make a long, LONG list of technologies that were supposed to make stupid brick and mortar institutions of higher education obsolete. Printed books. Radio. Television. Personal computers. CD-ROMs. The Internet. MOOCs. Write the story once, and you can re-use it every five years!
Will A.I. make college obsolete? Americans already distrust institutions, including academia. More and more people may decide that its stamp of approval isn't worth the cost.
