Keir Starmer: "I did a fantastic job during my time as Prime Minister." 30 minutes later. Andy Burnham: "Keir Starmer was shit and he did next to fuck all." I mean, I'm paraphrasing here, but that was the general gist of it.

Ultimately Starmer’s biggest miscalculation was failing to appreciate that chasing the Reform vote was far likelier to LOSE support than it ever was to gain it… Those of us who are NOT on the anti-immigrant bandwagon aren’t merely indifferent to it; we’re SICKENED and APPALLED by it.

Derelict telescope: choked by trees outside Cambridge is the “scintillation array” - 4096 vertical poles once connected with wires like so many washing lines - with which in 1967 Jocelyn Bell discovered “pulsars”. How has this piece of global scientific heritage been allowed to decay like this?

Today, we remember Jo Cox, who was murdered ten years ago. In her maiden speech, Jo famously said: “We are far more united and have far more in common than that which divides us.” Ten years on, those words are a powerful reminder to us all: We have far more in common than that which divides us.

Exactly. Wanna do something about harmful social media? Change the law so the platform's owners are classed as publishers, and become responsible for harmful / unlawful / slanderous/ offensive content. Same standards you'd apply to any print publisher. And enforce it with hefty fines.

Why the f**k do we not classify the social media companies as “publishers”? They would then be subject to the existing law that makes a publisher responsible for what it publishes. It should not make any difference that what the social media companies publish is digital rather than ink on paper

Why isn’t Labour thinking of taxing the obscene war profits of the oil companies? What’s the point of price controls on the supermarkets when their prices are significantly determined by transport costs, which in turn are determined by oil firm profiteering?

Oil prices wouldn't be all over the news today if more of our economy was powered by local, secure renewable energy. This isn't an "energy crisis". It's a fossil fuel crisis. 44% of UK electricity came from renewables in 2025. More of that plus an electrified economy => no more oil shocks.
Crude oil prices, showing a very sharp increase in the last day, from around 65 to 101 dollars per barrel..

We can't tax billionaires, because they might take their tax avoidance to another country. But we can drive out brilliant people who do much-needed work, contribute to our society and culture, pay tax, create jobs, and have done nothing wrong. That's fine, apparently.

Angela Rayner accidentally pays less tax than she should have, resigns, and the media gives her hell. Nigel Farage deliberately pays less tax than he should have, and the media gives him a free pass. That, right there, is the problem.

It's simple, if you throw paint on a plane then you get proscribed and any 80 year olds defending you get arrested. If you ask people to burn down hotels, and they try, you get an interview in the Telegraph and positive coverage in the BBC. That's sensible, proportionate policing.
