Life update: I got a new job assignment and I'm CAUTIOUSLY optimistic. Will I be compent enough for this position? Will I be able to handle the work schedule while maintaining a healthy, happy, and balanced life? I'm not sure; but for now at least, the ship is sinking significantly slower.

I might delete this later－idk－but if you want to know what's been going on in my life, then here it is.

I worked as a support worker for a deeply abusive woman for over a year; before eventually, I could no long take the abuse from both her *and* the rest of the care team. I was wanting for death everyday, so I went on mental health leave and I tried to find a new job for like 6 months (from like January to July). I failed.

The mental health pay didn't last that whole time, so I pretty much lost my whole life savings on a few months of rent and bills. I finally threw in the towel and contacted my old agency to give me a new client. I ended up strung along for weeks by a prospective client. I continued to lose more time and more money.

I finally got connected with a new client. It was a lot of fucking work and exhausted me, but I at least got along with the client. The mom? Not so much. I met with the client and the mom (I'll call her Brenda) a total of 9 times. Each time, I experienced one or two minor moments of tension, where the mother was either talking down to me, ranting angrily about something, or was literally experiencing paranoia (directed at myself and others).

On the first meeting, Brenda let me know that she carries a gun when she goes on walks. I also noticed that she sometimes would get lost in a rant (sometimes becoming angry, sometimes becoming slightly nonsensical). On maybe the third meeting, someone on the team told me that Brenda might be schizophrenic (citing very credible reasons that I won't go into). I was warned to keep an eye out and report any strange events to my supervisor.

After this, I started to realize that Brenda was very tense/paranoid about me. I noticed an increase in the presence of cameras and Brenda began to act accusatory and hostile toward me. I tried to ignore the red flags because I really really needed any work I could get. I could no longer ignore it when Brenda canceled my last scheduled visit with no explanation.

The next day, I wake up to a big text from Brenda interrogating me about why, "her daughter waved into the camera when she was gone" and why, "it's so important for me to hug her daughter while she's not around."

I tried to explain that when I told her child that she was doing something against Mom's rules, she asked if Mom was watching right now, and when I said maybe, she waved into the camera. I also explained that I didn't recall asking her child for a hug when she wasn't in the house. Additionally, her child had－on multiple occasions－hugged me unprompted in her mom's presence without an issue being risen. I explained that I can discourage this behavior entirely if it makes her uncomfortable.

I was freaked the fuck out and I finally got in contact with my agency who had already been called by Brenda. I found out that she basically hated me the whole time and thinks I'm some sort of perverted freak: that she thinks I'm lying to her about the hug thing: and also that she told me to not wear tank tops and that I wore them anyway (this is not a conversation that ever happened)!!!

My agency seemed to take my side (proven by the fact that they immediately offered me new clients to start working with); but they didn't at all acknowledge how scary, insane, and upsetting this situation was.

In the midst of all this, I was trying for like a month to get back on SNAP. All my calls were ignored. I finally found a day to just walk in and do the interview. I go in and they ask me a bunch of invasive questions: dwelling on my OnlyFans income. They also require me to get a letter from my employer explaining my weird hour situation. The whole process was very stressful and humiliating, but I at least felt like I was close to making progress. The very next morning－a Saturday, before I could even gather the documents they asked for－I got denied for benefits. I apparently took too long to complete the process and have to start over and try again.

Also meanwhile, my health is literally deteriorating. I've had a feeling of liquid/pressure in my ears for two months. My doctor just keeps prescribing me antibiotics and telling me to take a fuck ton of OTC that I can no longer afford. It's only getting worse.

It's becoming harder and harder to go on. To take care of myself. To have no treats and crawl slowly closer toward the possibility of homelessness. To continue to try to make money to sustain a life I lack the will to live.

I am reminded daily as to why the mortality rates for autistic adults are so bleak.
