Hard to narrow it down, so here's 6 of the most formative character designs for my childhood. I was a nerdy edgy kid...

With the 9 anime/game/manga/etc. That Shaped Who I Am trend, a lot of people see it as "the earliest <media> that impacted me". I prefer a mix of early formative stuff and more recent media as well. It's less about showing my faves, and more showing different periods of my life, even recent ones.

My 9 anime and manga. This is a no judgement zone >.<

Playing through Well Dweller at the mo, and 4 hours in, it's just so smooth. It gives me the same feeling of exploring a metroidvania map that Hollow Knight does, but with a far lighter tone (while still having its scares). @kylethompsondev.bsky.social has done it again methinks ❤️

Some of these games are probably obvious to you, but these games in some way fundamentally changed my brain chemistry in irreparable ways.

My 9 Games (The 9 Games That Shaped Who I Am)
Lost Kingdoms 2, Digimon World, DotHack//Infection, The World Ends With You, Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Alundra, Luminous Arc, Suikoden.

Watched "Return to Silent Hill". Went in hearing it was terrible, and I don't know if it's better than I expected, or if, as my partner says, I've just already forgotten most of the bad parts.

Konami's Rhapsody in Scarlet reminded me of Folklore so much, and it had the possiblity of yuribait. Is this finally Lost Kingdoms 3?

Main character on a spooky lantern-lit path. Very Folklore coded.

Main character uses a summoned wolf and a magic staff to attack shadow monsters.

One of my favorite things Peter Cullen did was this very specific Toonami bumper So when Cartoon Network acquired Hamtaro, they didn't know what to do with it so they shoved this wholesome show onto Toonami, and Toonami clearly didn't know how to advertise it Peter's voice just makes it funnier

One of the fun bits of lore in dotHack sign was finding out characters names IRL, or the explanation of their Screen Names. Like how BT gets her name from her favorite sandwich - BLT, hold the lettuce. Nowadays, everyone uses their real names - it's sus as hell
