I just remembered that I still never got my flu shot because my bitch ass insurance wouldn't let me the first time, and now I'm angry all over again.

East of Eden, Carrie, Crystal Lake…lot of potential ragebaiting myself with tv shows this October.

This has been on my list for a while but knowing the twist, I haven't been able to decide if it's too problematic to watch for the first time in 2026. Let me know how it is.

A tweet by SarahStarberry that says "oh god read the vertical axis" on top of a chart measuring AI models' release dates and model numbers rather than any real capabilities

I’m so glad MobLand didn’t change their theme song for season 2. I get so hype when Starburster starts playing sometimes I forget the show is good on its own.

Reading, and writing, are holy. I love reading novels because they tell me something. They say: "this is what someone believed enough to dedicate months or years of their life to say." This is just as true for the trashiest pulp as it is for the highest literature.

When I lived in Brooklyn, there was one train person I'd see every morning. Then I moved, and a year or two later I saw a Brooklyn train person on my new train! I almost said something, and kinda wish I did because it was so weird.

I love Woody Harrelson in the No Country for Old Men thumbnail. An actor nobody associates with the movie. I rewatched it recently and when he popped up, I said out loud "He's in this!?"

When cats' toys get pushed under the couch, do they remember where they lost them, like how squirrels remember where their nut caches are? When Little Cat finds a fuzz ball toy that was missing for months did she know where it was, or did she just happen to stumble on it during her midnight zoomies?

What is iOS 27 doing every day between 1pm and 2pm that my battery goes from 80% to 60% while my phone is sitting face down on my desk?

Yes, you can get free low assist but 1) most people probably don’t do that, and 2) those bikes are so heavy that low assist feels like it takes more power than just riding an acoustic.

Brian @briggio.bsky.social · 22/09/2026
I know correlation is not causation, but have y’all noticed that since Lyft did away with the free full speed e-bike thing when there’s only e-bikes at the dock, the percentage of acoustic bikes plummeted? We got 46 bikes right here; TWO of them are acoustic.

Like this show is pretty good, but I am willing to spend 60 minutes a week on it. I'm not thinking about this thing on Tuesday morning, it's time is done. There are people out there posting about the Avengers movies as if they're real art.

The worst part of how much I like the Lanterns show is it comes through in my instagram algorithm. Stop showing me superhero stuff, I'm in my 40s.

I appreciate the drivers in Liberty State Park who slow to my bike speed and won’t pass until I wave them through. They’re not right, but their hearts are in the right place, and sometimes that’s enough.

Hypothetically, if I wore chain mail on my bike, would that make things better or worse for me in the event of a crash?

Do I have any intention of buying the new cleats? I do not. Do I own any SPD-SL pedals that would make lack of backwards compatibility a concern? Nope. Will I read every review and hot take on these things I can find? Bet your ass.

Brian @briggio.bsky.social · 17/09/2026
Sometimes a silly news story that doesn't matter at all catches your attention and will not let go. For me today, that's Shimano's new road cleats that aren't compatible with older pedals.

Danny Elfman did the score and Rooster is on the soundtrack. So Apple Music made the completely logical assumption that since they did music together for this movie 7 years after Layne Staley died, that must mean they worked together on the song.

Brian @briggio.bsky.social · 15/09/2026
Thanks (I think) to getting confused because of the Terminator Salvation soundtrack, Apple Music lists Danny Elfman as a cowriter on that song

They did give me the covid shot I requested but it was the grumpiest pharmacist I've ever encountered, and now my arm hurts more than any shot I've ever gotten. I don't know how, but those feel related, like he transferred his bad attitude into the injection.

They wouldn't give me my flu shot because my insurance denied it. If I get the flu, I should be allowed to open mouth cough directly into Cigna's CEO's face.

My usual trick is to wait for someone who’s looking down at their phone and just cut in. Little known fact: there is no need to yield to people on their phone in congested areas.

I hate when the cat also reacts to the sound. I'll hear some kind of scrabbling and try to convince myself it's just the neighbor or something, but once she locks in on it, you know it's real.

As a new Harry Potter trailer makes the rounds, it bears repeating that there’s no way to watch this show without supporting J.K. Rowling’s bigotry and the structural violence she’s inflicting on the trans community.

There is no ethical consumption of HBO’s Harry Potter series
You can’t without supporting Rowling’s transphobic bigotry.

God this sucks so much. I love Ornot and this could’ve been such a sick design. Your bib shorts are like $250 I know you can afford to pay an artist to draw this.
Screenshot from @truemarmalade’s instagram story of a shirt with the caption “For all y’all who asked.” The shirt says ORNOT at top with what, at first glance, looks like a sick wizard with lightning and stuff. Screenshot from @truemarmalade’s instagram story of a shirt with the caption “Yeah, I saw it.” It’s a zoom on the shirt where you can see the wizard’s hand is all messed up, suggesting it was actually made with AI.
