My neighborhood association president wanted to downsize, so he sold his house & applied to 3 apartments. All 3 turned into a bidding war. He lost each time and had to move out of the neighborhood. Our neighborhood assoc. president was priced out of our neighborhood. Think about that.

Do I transit my entire back and forth trip the next three days, putting me on an hourly schedule for a whole-day conference I'm managing, or do I drive 1/3 of the way so I can catch the 4x hour Pulse bus instead?

parents talk to your sons about what is going on. It is your job to guide them and for them to hear from you and understand the importance of their presence to stand up for what is right especially in the face of everyone doing wrong.

Tonight (9/29) at Clarendon Park from 5:30-7p. The Park District wants to create additional rules for e-bikes in its parks as allowed by the new micrmobility bill. I expect they may be tighter than the bill passed. Come tell them to leave e-bikes alone. www.chicagoparkdistrict.com/micromobilit...

I get more pissed off the more I think about what Colorado did with just one of its major highways versus what little Illinois has done with three in the same time period. Leadership needs vision.

And Indiana only appears low because the state government waived fuel taxes, with some direct payments to local governments to offset the lost motor fuel tax revenue. Which obviously can't occur forever.

Fair play for those involved since it’s entirely legal but when it comes to pension reform, “you can only draw one pension at a time” and “pensions are for retirement so you can’t get paid out while you have another job” seem like great places to start

3 other cyclists, one scooter, on this foggy morning. Last night on the ride home, counted 16(!) cyclists, three scooters. Big numbers around downtown Arlington Heights, but the number of commuters is increasing.

You think I'm joking but... There's a solid network to be built up here, and Rolling Meadows has been wanting better Pace service that it's not getting. Blue stars would be initial stations, blue with white dots expansion stations. Would also add expansion stations to ARC and RM Public Works.
Satellite map of the suburban area of Arlington Heights and Rolling Meadows, with full blue stars noted at Mariano's, Arlington Heights Village Hall, Arlington Heights Metra, Arlington Heights Library, Arlington Heights Public Works, Pioneer Park, Cook County Courthouse, Rolling Meadows City Hall, Jewel, Rolling Meadows Library, Rolling Meadows Rec Center, Arlington Heights Senior Center, Northwest Community Hospital, Golf and Wilke, with blue stars with a white circle indicated at Arlington Park Metra, Volz Park, Rolling Meadows High School, White Oak and Wilke, Sunset Meadows Park, South Middle School, and Recreation Park.

Here’s the most incredible story you’ll read today. A small plane with four people aboard crashes in a field. Another pilot witnesses it. That pilot happens to be flying a bunch of skydivers. They offer to jump to assist, are given permission. The skydivers happen to be EMTs. Everyone survives.

NITA’s mandate is “one network, one timetable, one ticket”, and allowing the pre-NITA Pace ReVision and CTA Bus Vision Project to continue on their separate, parallel ways is a direct contradiction of that mandate and would be an early failure for the new regional agency.

Has anyone done a headway schedule fluctuation analysis for stops based on time of day? That even Pace Pulse Dempster has up to 6 minutes change in schedule depending on time of day really highlights opportunities for lane enhancement.

The feeling is especially loud when you have a kid. I've lost track of the number of intrusive thoughts I've had about a crash involving my kiddo while they're with me. It doesn't help that one of my guiding moments for advocacy is losing someone who did everything right:

$3.89/gal for gas in Indiana?! That's too cheap! Why? Because the Republican governor Indiana suspended the gas tax again, meaning car culture is not paying it's fair share and the tax payers at large are subsidizing their driving habits. Sounds like socialism to me. 😂
