time for another Brian Friday Night: watching youtube, eating chinese food, and agonizing over every mistake, failed relationship, lapsed friendship, and generally just beating myself up as i try to pinpoint where exactly everything went wrong in my life

The first Peanuts strip by Charles M. Schulz was published on October 2, 1950.

Four black and white panels of a boy and girl sitting on steps.
1st panel: Charlie Brown is approaching and the boy says:
"Well! Here comes ol' Charlie Brown!"
2nd panel: As Charlie Brown passes, he says "Good ol' Charlie Brown...yes, sir!"
3rd panel: "Good ol' Charlie Brown..."
4th panel: Once Charlie is gone, "How I hate him!"

On the 3rd of October 1982, the 1st episode of Super Dimension Fortress Macross aired. Created by Shoji Kawamori, this would be the start of the iconic Macross franchise. Happy 44th Anniversary 🎉

3x3 Eyes is one of those anime properties that felt omnipresent in the mid to late 90s and then fell off immediately. bit of a shame - it's pretty good

I remain pretty bummed out by the state of decompilations, ports, FPGA cores etc these days. The rise of GenAI has really flooded the whole scene with garbage and kinda poisoned the whole concept. Good piece from @pandamonium.bsky.social on it www.segasaturnshiro.com/2026/09/24/c...

It's elitist now to translate anime titles. if you ever call it DBZ instead of ドラゴンボールZ you are an elitist.

Was surprised to see out of the blue in Super Famicom Magazine an interview with Paul Jackson, who was bassist in Herbie Hancock's legendary Headhunters album and group. He was one of few musicians that moved to and built a life in Japan, he was a fan of Macs and loved Sim City.

Interview series by 川口洋司 one of the most famous game journalists in japan, Vol 3 with Paul Jackson...two photos of him talking vibrantly

Two more photos and some discussion about computers and games

Last page of the interview with one photo and talking about possibilities of multimedia
