Even "follow the money" tracks poorly for Google on this. Many countries contract with Google for services, including Canada. The UK has very large contracts with Google, for example.

I understand Google must follow the law of each jurisdiction. But appending Lake Ontario with "(Lake America)" to Maps searches from outside of the USA? @developers.google.com, you may want to fly the idea to your corporate overlords that the boot licking isn't necessary outside of the USA.

Every back to school season, I remind parents to not post their children's photos online. The downsides of doing so now include the reality that all photos are scraped by AI. Lots of parents get mad at me every year, but maybe this new ruling will smarten them up!
