These are all flagrant lies, unsourced yet printed in a newspaper that allegedly fact checks things. The rest of it is meandering panic-bait that treats jail breaking LLMs. They don’t even describe the virus! They just said someone made one. Bullshit!
One answer is to look at the data. After the launch of GPT-5 in August, some thought that A.I. had hit a plateau. Expert analysis suggests this isn’t true. GPT-5 can do things no other A.I. can do. It can hack into a web server. It can design novel forms of life. It can even build its own A.I. (albeit a much simpler one) from scratch.

I realize I’m probably stating the obvious, and even worse I admit I don’t really know the solution to this: the reason liberal “strategists” keep reaching out to the right is because the right isn’t the side they see is their enemy. The right isn’t trying to get them all fired.

And I know we overuse the meme, but it applies: every time this happens, they go full Principal Skinner and insist it’s the children who are wrong. We know for a fact, Democrats want a younger, more progressive party, and the people in charge respond by seeing if Liz Cheney is free again.

HIRING
Washington, D.C. — Today, Ranking Member of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure Rick Larsen (D-WA) and Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Aviation Steve Cohen (D-TN) released the following statements after President Trump froze the hiring of Air Traffic Controllers, among other safety-critical positions.
"The bipartisan FAA Reauthorization Act of 2024 directs the Administration to hire the maximum number of air traffic controllers. That's what the law says, so the Administration must rescind this ridiculous executive order," Ranking Member Larsen said. "Hiring air traffic controllers is the number one safety issue according to the entire aviation industry. Instead of working to improve aviation safety and lower costs for hardworking American families, the Administration is choosing to spread bogus DEl claims to justify this decision. I'm not surprised by the President's dangerous and divisive actions, but the Administration must reverse course. Let's get back to aviation safety and allow the FAA to do its job protecting the flying public."
"Our top priority must be the safety of the flying public so an order freezing the hiring of air traffic controllers is a misguided decision and goes against the directives of our
FAA Reauthorization bill," Ranking Member Cohen said. "The aviation community will speak with one voice in condemning this short-sighted policy and reaffirm our

To us, the chart is worthless, it tells us nothing worth noting. We spent more money than ever before, money we don't have on less food and worse housing if we can afford any at all. Our jobs are never secure and they're worse than ever. The economy obviously blows goats. Our metrics are different.

The whole DEFINITION of "economy" and "good" for the Stancils of the world are "money corporations make" and GDP - which is gross domestic product, or "the amount of shit that was sold" and this stuff looks good, but it doesn't measure what that stuff is or whether we want to buy it.

Sometimes it's correlated with the economic well being of the working class on a kind of trickle-down principle which is that companies do better than ever and the rest of us see incidental and accidental benefits that are related to how much stuff we're sold, but that hasn't been true for a while.

Fwiw, I think the "economy is good" guys are true believers. They've got their charts and one of the things they've never been able to grapple with is what the charts they've got say, in real terms. Like businesses seem happy and that's what we modeled economic success on this whole time.

Correct. These are fundamentally scams. Perhaps a small number of supporters mistakenly believe the mission is genuine; that's irrelevant, because the mission itself is fraudulent and all the people in charge are scam artists. There's no scenario in which these scams are molded into genuine reforms.
