modern nintendo hardware is baffling to me because its only real function is to be expensive DRM for the games that run on it. like, nintendo games are pretty fun and not super demanding on hardware. fuck a switch put those games on steam.

Just in case you didn't know ModRetro fucking sucks and "Automated War Initiative" is a disgusting title Also, War Crime Enthusiast Palmer Luckey is incredibly thin skinned and will chase you around various social media platforms if you talk sauce about him and his shitty M64. Worth it.
FB comment:

Palmer Luckey: Mike Fink the M64 is $230 not $320 and it is far more powerful than the Mister. We developed our own core and open sourceed all the hardware and software

And Aduril helps kill Russians, not children

Me: Palmer Free Luckey that's without the controller, not included, which is $90

And also fuck youWe still clown on you with memes
Palmer Luckey and is shit handheld emulator, along with other fascists that don't care about human life, like Elon Musk and JD Vance

today's hardware designers could never conceive of what Kazuo Kawasaki was doing in 1996
A colorful retro computer setup featuring a purple keyboard, a small teal touchpad, and a teal circular CD-ROM drive with a matching keypad-style controller resting on top. The hardware is arranged against a dark background in a vivid purple-and-turquoise color scheme.

So true, it is making me think how cool it would look modded with bisexual colors to give it more personality. Might be a good use for a spare NA Super Nintendo I have in the closet 🤔

I should have switched to Hyprland a long time ago, it has a good overall feel and it is so fun to customize. It was easier than I thought, especially with the lua configuration and Home Manager's `config.lib.file.mkOutOfStoreSymlink` so I can edit it and still get live reload on NixOS.

You are misunderstanding, I am saying I watched Dinosaurs when it premiered in 1991 on ABC's TGIF Friday block of programming and the DVD set I have is the 2006 release, and that many of the home releases in that era of mid to late 2000s had a lot of creative packaging and features that I miss.

Like I love my Thank You For Smoking that has a slip cover that makes it look like a pack of Luck Strikes. Those things were so cool IMO and they really stopped doing it as much with bluray.

Chris @boothmanning.bsky.social · 28/09/2026
I remember watching it the night it premiered! We never had cable so I recall watching it every Friday for at least a couple seasons. But yeah I mean the DVD was pure 2000s charm, with the little details to match aspects of the show.

I really like that the box set opens up like an egg hatching with the baby inside. We were spoiled in the 2000s in ways that we never really knew.

I loved it growing up, and randomly some years ago I was looking around youtube and found an Italian dubbed live stream and after watching Dinosarios I just had to buy the DVD box set. It is now a Saturday morning favorite in my household.

In my area folks are so down bad for third spaces that are friendly to children and/or dogs that it has become common place here as a place to meet with other adults. It felt weird to me and we haven't really been back to one, like how am I suppose to enjoy getting a buzz while caring for a toddler?

Sometimes a drug trip is a profound experience where you realize that you’ve been carrying pain in your heart for years, that you can forgive yourself. Other times you come up with a concept called “gay money” (money that’s gay) and you text your friend “gay money” days later. Both are healing. ❤️‍🩹

DoorDash has ripped off more than 260,000 NYC delivery workers. We’re making them pay $131.5 million — the largest worker settlement in City history. This is New York, where hard work pays and greed will cost you.
DoorDash messed up.
They repeatedly left more than 260,000 NYC delivery workers underpaid or paid late, causing them immense stress and financial difficulty.
That's unacceptable.
We've secured a $131.5M settlement from
DoorDash - the largest worker settlement in NYC history and largest delivery worker settlement in
American municipal history.
Every worker will be paid what they are owed, and every company will be forced to abide by the laws of this city.

Watching my dad play Dragon Warrior is one my earliest gaming memories and I treasure it dearly. I also frequently think back fondly of the anticipation of installing KQV after installing the first CD drive and sound card in our home PC.

The democrats are more concerned with performative moral stances than literally doing anything as simple as trying to make a material improvement in people's lives. It drives me crazy to see them spending time on this vs. doing literally anything that people actually want or need.

NixOS 24.11 nearly worked out the box with everything, the only hiccups were I needed an external keyboard for the NixOS installer (kinda funny it didn't have a working driver) and needed to do the first fw update to get thunderbolt to work with my thunderbolt monitor.

I've been running NixOS on the framework 13 amd ai 300 version since May 2025 and it has been hands down the best laptop and linux experience I've ever had. It was a lot of learning since nix and functional programming was so foreign to me but it was enjoyable and satisfying.
