At the airport and while my French is atrocious, I at least try. So many people aren’t even doing the basics by at least looking around or using their smartphone to translate. We all know it’s not brilliant but it helps enough.

Book 20 of 2026 Firstborn Of The Sun by Marvellous Michael Anson Bit of a slow burn to enable world building before stepping up the action. There are romantic sections but definitely not cozy and honestly more of a warning about the stupid decisions made in the name of love. 🪐📚💙

Book 19 of 2026 Red City by Marie Lu One of the gems of 2025 fantasy. Alchemical syndicates akin to mafia families secretly pulling the levers of power in a close to real world setting. The tag line ‘Power always has its price’ perfectly describes the gradual erosion of the soul. 💙📚🪐

Mum had eye surgery on Thursday so have been doing primary care duties. Fairly detailed instructions but also not in a very helpful format. 4 different eye drops all with a different frequency. Had to break the excel out to work out the timings throughout the day.
