Indeed! I've not read any qntm other than Antimemetics, so I'd be interested to hear what they're like. Also, I like those covers for the Ray Naylers - different to the ones we have here.

Cool thread with some fantasy debuts I am noting for my tbr list. My own Crawford shortlisting (for Armed in Her Fashion/The Chatelaine) remains something of which I am very proud. It is a cool award and every year it puts at least one future favourite on my radar.

The witch is a creature of weather. Wind-summoner. Drought-breaker. Cloud-reader. Flood-flyer. Mist-wearer. She adapts to it, she adjusts the weather to her favour. It's one of her most vital relationships. She wears it on her boots. She wears it on her skin. – #EmilyCBanting #FolkWitchFriday

There's a new A.S. Byatt novella just out: Cold is a gorgeous fairytale of a frail summer-born princess who discovers her true self when she escapes into a winter night. Just out this week, it's a beautifully produced little hardback and would make a lovely gift. 💙📚🪐 #Fairytale

Set on the Yorkshire coast against the 1970s blackouts, @amandajanemason.bsky.social's The Dark is a wonderfully creepy new folk horror full of superstition and isolation as Rosie, pregnant and newly moved to the area, tries to settle in and make a home... #Horrorsky 💙📚🪐

mrs. caliban by rachel ingalls. had to sit in silence for a while processing afterwards.
a green book cover with two large yellow-rimmed eyes and a mouth, reminiscent of a frog’s face. it reads Mrs. Cali an in white and rachel ingalls in yellow. it is described as “a perfect novel” by the new yorker.
