#atproto space question: Is it fine to create space for each records to support per-record access control? Say all Tangled repository issues are spaces. My biggest concern is sync, because every issues are now standalone permissioned repos. But maybe that doesn't matter much?

Apple has high-level APIs that make building UI automagical But when experimenting with new hardware I like to rebuild everything from scratch to understand the fundamental building blocks An old habit from when I was a UI prototyper in Apple's Hardware org, with only basic firmware to work with 😄

One thing I've been toying with, instead of talking about "PDS" and cryptic nonsense like that is: Atmosphere Service Provider, like an ISP but for the social internet. Part of the motivation is that "Sign in with Atmosphere" only works if people have seen that before.

Published v0.8.0 of tangled.org/jola.dev/lat..., my Elixir atproto OAuth client library. Some of the improvements: parsing and building SpaceURIs, extracting timestamps from TIDs, and token refreshes are now wrapped in unlinked Tasks, ensuring they are not interrupted by caller exiting.

Yeah, some users will never try to learn, but we should at least try to make it more clear. I think the option to choose bsky feeds is a good example. It's not perfect, but it really helps users understand they have a control over their own feeds. (at least, I hope so.)

We should stop calling it as Bluesky "account". It's Bluesky "profile", not "account". I'm not saying people should learn about the whole #atproto business to use Bluesky, but at least they should know that their "account" is part of larger world and not tied to just Bluesky.

Of course all this happens because currently the network boundary is open to everyone. Anyone can see and like your post. So, clients should ultimately listen to everyone in the network. So once atproto "space" lands and we get private data, you won't(can't) have a global index for these.
